Policies And Terms
Here are our official terms, conditions and policies.
General Terms
The information on this site is solely for advice. At no time, unless specifically stated, does it represent a legally binding contract for services to be provided.
The only time this changes is when you register with us, you DO enter a legally binding contract with ConFuzzled UK Limited. The below codes and policies and terms form part of the contract.
Age
By the start date of ConFuzzled (June 20th, 2008) you MUST be at least 18 years old. This is due to liabilities imposed on us by UK law and due to this we have decided to not allow underage participants. We will be checking the Passports/ID cards of all participants as we are required to do so by law.
Cancellation
You are entitled to cancel your registration within TWO WEEKS of it being confirmed and receive a full refund (if you have paid).
If you wish to cancel after this time, we regret that we will be unable to offer you a refund, as our contracts with our suppliers require us to confirm the number of attendees very early, and we have little financial backing to compensate for cancellations.
If you find that you are unable to attend, however, you MAY transfer your membership to someone else, but ONLY if you register this change with us! You and the person you wish to give your membership to must BOTH send us a confirmation by e-mail that they have agreed to transfer the ConFuzzled membership from one to another. The new member MUST supply us with their full personal details. Anyone showing up at the event whose name is NOT on our database will be sent home.
If the event is cancelled by force majeure we will offer a refund when money is paid via our insurance agents.
Food
Food is included as part of your registration, comprising a Barbecue on Friday evening; Continental Breakfast, Buffet Lunch and Hot Dinner on Saturday and Sunday; and Continental Breakfast on Monday.
Meals will vary and we will aim to accommodate reasonable special dietary requirements, provided we are informed in advance. NB: The most common dietary needs are available as options during registration, to simplify this process.
Sponsors will receive a "care basket", containing a small selection of food and drinks, at registration.
Payment
You will receive full payment details by email as soon as your registration application has been approved. This may take up to 48 hours!
The membership fee is due within 14 days of registration (unless held off for other reasons we are aware of, or we've advised we're delaying payments).
Registration means after you're confirmed by ourselves. You should receive your payment details by email, but we cannot be held responsible if you do not.
You've (usually) got two weeks to send us any outstanding money from then.
If we don't hear anything from you by then your registration will be cancelled. You have been warned!
Depending on demand this might happen with 24 hours of this deadline, so please make sure you will be able to pay your fees on time. In certain circumstances, we may be able to extend this deadline if you let us know early!
Payment Methods
You can pay ConFuzzled in one of four ways. Details such as our account number are only given when you register, via email.
Bank Transfer
UK members should be able to make a transfer via Online or Telephone Banking. NB: Arranging a transfer in a branch of your bank may incur charges.
Please send us an e-mail (after payment) to southpaw {at} confuzzled.org.uk with the name your bank account is in, how much you've paid and your nickname and registration number, and those of anyone else you may be paying for, so we can reconcile your payment against our bank statement.
Google Checkout (Recommended)
If you wish to pay by credit or debit card, we recommend you use Google Checkout, as this incurs NO transaction fees.
Unlike PayPal, Google Checkout ONLY allows you to purchase from a "Shopping Basket", so you'll need to visit this page to do so, which will then redirect to Google Checkout.
PayPal
If you're from a country outside Europe, or if money transfer isn't available, you can send money to our PayPal account.
Just put your nickname and registration number, and those of anyone else you may be paying for, in the Note field on PayPal.
Please see the PayPal Fees page about the associated fees with using PayPal.
Any fees not paid will be asked for at registration.
At a HSBC UK Branch
Once you've made your payment, contact southpaw {at} confuzzled.org.uk with the name and sort code (if you know it) of the bank branch you paid in at (e.g. The Town, Enfield is 40-20-23), how much you've paid, the date of payment and your nickname and registration number, and those of anyone else you may be paying for, so we can reconcile your payment against our bank statement.
Pricing
We have three kinds of membership available.
We have no registration on the door. ConFuzzled 2008 is pre-registration ONLY.
Supporting - This is a membership for someone who does NOT wish to attend but would like to help us out. You can upgrade to a standard or sponsor member depending upon availability.
Standard (£160 to £170)- This is a regular membership for someone who wishes to attend the convention. This includes registration, including badge and convention book, accommodation and food. You can upgrade to sponsorship at any time up to 2 weeks before the convention.
Sponsorship (£200 to £210) - This is membership for very special people. For the extra support you're giving us, in addition to the standard member benefits you receive your name in the convention book, care basket, limited edition print & T-shirt with our compliments.
NB: As with Eurofurence, the price you pay is determined by when you PAY, not by when you register. This is to discourage people from making a token payment to hold their place and then not pay until just before the start of the convention.
Transfer of Membership
We will allow a transfer of your Standard or Sponsor membership to someone else. To do this, you must inform us via email. We will then contact the person you wish to arrange this with. The new member must supply us with his/her full personal details. There is no cost for this. People showing up at the convention whose names are not in our database will be asked to leave.
Video/Photography Rules
ConFuzzled wants you to have great memories from a fantastic convention. Photographs and videotape footage by attendees are generally allowed in all common areas of the convention with the exception of the Art Show and Dealer's Room. Specific rules regarding these matters may exist for selected events.
When photographing or videotaping individuals or costumes, please use common courtesy and ask before photographing them. Please respect their rights if they do not wish to be photographed or videotaped.
Individuals may take pictures and videotapes for private viewing or sharing with friends. Photography or videography for the purpose of sale or publication to the press is expressly forbidden unless written permission has been obtained from ConFuzzled UK Ltd.
Some events will be videotaped for the purposes of producing the convention highlights video. Videotaping will also be conducted in public areas of the convention. No videotaping by convention staff will be conducted in guest rooms or in any other areas where an attendee has a reasonable expectation of privacy.
Attendees should be aware that footage gathered in public areas of the convention - including events and panels - may be used in a highlights tape, and that attendees may appear in that tape without compensation. ConFuzzled will require a release only for footage that is obtained in areas that are not fully public (i.e. private functions and personal interviews.)
