Getting There By Metroshuttle Bus
Metroshuttle
...Back to the Location And Travel page.
Metroshuttle is the FREE city centre bus around Manchester.
Metroshuttle operates with low-floor, easy access buses with a frequency of about every 5 minutes on Service 1 (orange) and every 10 minutes on Service 2 (green).
Metroshuttle links all of the city centre railway stations, the main NCP car parks, and many bus and Metrolink tram stops.
We'd recommend to take the tram as it is much quicker depending on traffic, or if you have large cases.
This guide assumes you have arrived at Manchester Piccadilly train station.
If you have arrived at Manchester Victoria Station, We would recommend to get the tram instead.
The text is above each picture.
Step 1
First of all, look for the signs at Manchester Piccadilly for the metroshuttle and then when you're outside, walk down the ramp and you should see this:

Step 2
You need to board the "Number 1" bus, which looks like this.
Be sure to ask the driver to let you know when you've reached 'John Dalton Street' stop.

Step 3
At John Dalton Street, step off the bus and take the next left onto Deansgate.

Step 4
You need to walk forward, till you reach the next bus stop.

Step 5
At the bus stop, it should look like this and say:
'Deansgate - John Rylands Library - Towards Trafford'

Step 6
You need to board the "Number 2" bus, Be sure to ask the driver to let you know when you've reached 'Science Museum' stop.
Step 7
From the Science Museum stop, walk in the direction you just came from. You should see the giant 'cog' sign. Head down the road to the right, called Liverpool Road.

And then it's just as simple as crossing over the road and following our signs or the ones to the youth hostel.
...And you're here!
